About Paul

"I’ve learned so much from this sport, not just about cars, but also management skills, finances, and just life in general.  I’ve met a lot of great people, made some good friends, and you always have a story to tell at the end of each race, some good, and some bad.  I’m thankful to be living my dream and I thank my family, friends, and sponsors who support me and make my dream possible. I couldn’t do it without them."

Thank you for your support! – Only left turns!........ #29 Paul Williamson

Paul Williamson has always loved NASCAR racing.  His Daddy took him to his first race when he was 5 years old and he’s been hooked ever since.  At the age of 15, Paul decided he wanted to see what he could do about getting into racing at Coastal Plains in Jacksonville, NC.  He contacted Bill Jones and expressed his desire to race.  Bill asked him to come run one of his cars at Coastal Plains in the Young Guns Division in April 2012. Paul won 2nd place in his first race in a car he had never driven before that night.  He continued driving in the Young Guns Division at Coastal Plains that season with excellent finishes.  Meanwhile, Paul decided he wanted his own car and his parents told him if he wanted it he had to pay for it himself and if he wanted to race he had to find a way to make it happen.  Paul purchased his first car, a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro, from Mack Parker in the fall of 2012. Hence PW Racing began and the #29 has been racing ever since with the help of many community sponsors from Duplin and surrounding counties.

In 2013, when Coastal Plains decided not to open, he made the decision to race at Southern National Motorsports Park where he finished 8th in points in the Street Stock Division for that season. He also received Rookie of the Year for the Street Stock Division.

Again in 2014, Paul decided to continue racing at SNMP but moved to the Charger Division.  He had a great season where he finished 3rd in points for the season. He also was named Rookie of the Year for that division.  February of 2015 he attended the NASCAR Rookie Seminar at the Daytona Speedway during Speedweek.

In 2015, Paul won his first race and finished in the top 5 most of the other races in the Charger division. He finished the SNMP season 2nd in points.

Once the 2015 season was over, Paul decided he wanted to race the LLMSC for the Thanksgiving Classic.  He had a great night where he finished 5th that night in his first ever LLMSC race with a field of 18 cars.

Looking forward to a great season! Follow Paul in the LMSC Division at SNMP.

PW Racing would like to thank our sponsor – Pure Country Farms.
